Drug uses

The medication is an androgen hormone inhibitor. It is used to treat male pattern hair loss. Do not use in women or children.

Interactions may be caused by taking Propecia together with some drugs. Inform your doctor beforehand in case you have allergies, pregnancy or any other medical conditions.

Directions

Follow your doctor's recommendations when using the medication. Read a patient information leaflet that comes with the medication carefully. You can take Propecia either with food or on empty stomach.

Store the drug out of reach of children at room temperature in a tightly-closed container.

In case you miss a dose of Propecia and you remember the same day, take the medicine as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose, if you do not remember until the next day. Do not take 2 doses at once in order to make up the missed one.

Warnings/ Precautions

The medicine starts to work after several months. Do not stop using the drug without the permission of your doctor. If you stop the medication it will result in a return of baldness within 12 months.

A woman who is pregnant or is planning to become pregnant should not handle crushed or broken tablets of this drug. In case a woman who is pregnant comes in contact with crushed or broken tablets of Propecia, contact your doctor immediately.

Propecia side effects

The most common side effect that may occur is a change in sexual function. Inform your doctor if the side effect continues or is bothersome.

Call your doctor at once if you experience any of the following propecia side effects: swelling of lips or skin rash.

You mustn't share the drug with those for whom it was not prescribed. The medication is not intended to be used for other health conditions.

In case of using Propecia for an extended period of time, obtain refills before your supply runs out.
